Have you ever noticed a recurring number on your paystubs from the same company? This is your tax identification number. The first three digits represent the tax office number where your employer's tax is registered. The remaining numbers are your identifying number. This does not, however, limit you to only one tax office for tax questions. You can visit any tax office or contact any tax office number in the UK if you supply your National Insurance Number.
Identification Number for Tax Purposes
End-of-Year Certificate; the P60 also includes your tax reference number. Your company will also supply you with a P60. It includes your total annual income, income tax paid, and National Insurance Contributions subtracted. If you decide to leave your job, your company will send you a Form P45. This will also include your tax reference number.
Tax Identification Number
When you start a new job, you will be assigned a new tax identification number. Your tax reference number is effectively used to discover your tax record with a certain employer. It can keep an automated record of your total annual earnings and taxes paid over the length of a single job. Apart from that, they should not be used in formal correspondence with HMRC or as legal identification numbers.
HMRC Tax Reference

Both UTR and NINO, like tax reference numbers, lack legal identity evidence.
What exactly is P60? Is it still for sale?
Irish citizens will no longer be able to obtain p60. P45 and P60 have been phased out as part of PAYE Modernization since January 1st, 2019. It has been replaced by the end-of-year statement, which is available through Revenue, the Irish equivalent of HMRC. The End of Year Statement is available through Revenue's My Account Service.
The first End of Year Statement will not be accessible until after December 31, 2019. The statement will include information about your:

According to the new online system, the employer will submit all of the aforementioned information against your PPS (Personal Public Service) number. When you leave a job, you will no longer receive a P45. Instead, your employer will input information about your departure date, final salary, and any applicable deductions into the Revenue's web portal. You can also access the same information through your account login.
